Taking full advantage of its natural resources, the town is noted for its fishing, walking, golf and other outdoor pursuits and is now a first class destination for mountain biking.

You will often collect a friendly greeting from the people of Peebles as they throng the busy High Street with its specialist local shops and charming country town atmosphere. A welcome new addition at the east end of the High Street is Eastgate Theatre and Arts Centre, a beautiful church conversion that has an excellent calendar of wide-ranging cultural events.
